In 2005, Borobazar College was established in Bijni Town. Formerly known as Reimalie Academy Degree College, it was operated by the Reimalie Society, founded by Mr. Rajen Basumatary as a pioneering venture. However, in 2014, the college relocated from Bijni Town to Borobazar, situated 15 km north of its previous location.
In 2012, Reimalie Degree College gained affiliation with Gauhati University. Following its move to Borobazar,the college withdrawn its affiliation with Gauhati University
